Established: 2019

The Home Bakers Association Sri Lanka was founded in 2019 by Founder President, Deshamaniya Dr. Fathima Rushda Najimudeen, with the vision of empowering and uplifting home-based bakers across the country.

The primary mission of the association is to connect bakers nationwide by providing free training programs, enhancing their skills, supporting career advancement, and promoting independent and self-employment opportunities.

Vision

To offer free baking training programs across Sri Lanka, fostering work stability and skill development among young bakers.

Activities & Reach

Over the years, major workshops have been successfully conducted in collaboration with Edinborough and Akbar Brothers in regions including:

  • Madampe

  • Puttalam

  • Galle

  • Matara

  • Negombo

  • Colombo

  • Batticaloa

To date, the association has trained over 2,000 bakers, helping them establish and grow their home baking businesses throughout Sri Lanka.

Notable Initiatives

The association, through its training arm, SL institute of confectionery and culinary arts previously known as Finest Bakes Institute*, organized the *Sri Lanka Cake Awards.
